I made my 10th visit to Sinharaja in almost 13 years in the 2nd week of January 2024 with 3 other photography friends and managed to get some decent photos of the spurfowl and the chestnut backed owlet among others.
This is a real phenomenon . These barn swallows have chosen these wires to perch in the night in Mathugama town and in thousands, for many years now during the migration period they are seen here after dusk till dawn congregating like a colony. we managed to see them while on our way to Sinharaja at 4 am.
