I visited Wilpattu after 7 months with a close fellow photographer and his daughter in the 4th week of August. Due to the severe draught this time around we could feel the heat beating on us and it was scorching hot . we did the full day safari by leaving home at 3 in the morning and returning to be at home by 10 in the night.
This bear we saw soon after we entered and it was so busy eating fallen nuts , didn't bother to lift the head even a single time.
This crested drongo was my first sighting in this park after all the visits made
juvenile serpent eagle
Brown fish owl
Adult serpent eagle
Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl
Malabar pied Hornbil
Trying to quench the thirst
Another Brown fish owl at close range
White rumped shama
White bellied sea eagle
This one was seen by chance as it moved through the bushes
A lone elephant eating weed
Changeable hawk eagle
Painted storks
Lesser Adjutant stork
In a pensive mood trying to avoid the heat perhaps
