2ND TRIP TO WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK FOR 2023

I visited Wilpattu after 7 months with a close fellow photographer and his daughter in the 4th week of August. Due to the severe draught this time around we could feel the heat beating on us and it was scorching hot . we did the full day safari by leaving home at 3 in the morning and returning to be at home by 10 in the night.

This bear we saw soon after we entered and it was so busy eating fallen nuts , didn't bother to lift the head even a single  time.

Wooly necked storks

This crested drongo was my first sighting in this park after all the visits made

Giant squirrel

juvenile serpent eagle

This is the Nelum vila big boy . He had made a Sambre kill and the carcass was a few feet away and has been in the vicinity for the last 3 days.

The 2 nd Leopard emerged from the jungle at the same time and walked half way through the dried villu to drink water and went in from the furthest point.
