I went to Yala and stayed for 2 nights in the Governor's camp with my family , my cousin who came from Dubai and another family in the 1st week of February 2022. On the way we stopped at the Ridiyagama safari park for the first time. It was a fun filled trip with quality time together with good company and coupled up with taking some exiting pictures as well.

Fan-tailed flycatcher - Ridiyagama
The open environment at Ridiyagama safari park gave us the feeling that we are in a natural surrounding and the concept was quite encouraging.
This triumphant mongoose was all over the dead land monitor it had killed a while ago..
This was a treat. One of the 3 famous and much sort after cubs of Sasha had climbed this huge tree like an adult and when we got their it was probably scared to death as no matter how it tried to get down it didn't work and after sometime finally it jumped on to a thick bush above the ground and vanished may be after learning a bitter lesson.
This was Sandy a matured one relaxing and was quite un-perturbed.
A chestnut-headed bee eater sand bathing
Serpent eagle
The usual display
Saw this Jungle prinia for the first time..
Although this was a common sight in the good old days, seeing at least the nests was rare sight these days.
Refreshingly there were quite a number of elephants this time around.
