Although Thalangama lake has lost it's fauna habitats considerably in the past few years, some interesting activity can be observed when the Asian open bills start nesting from July inwards.

PICTURES OF THE SRI LANKA SLOTH BEAR .....
Although I started my wildlife journeys in 1992 by going to Wasgamuwa national park when my daughter was only 10 months old, surprisingly I didn't get a chance to see a Bear till 2011 and that also was a glimpse in the dark in Wilpattu.
After patronizing both Yala and Wilpattu national parks for almost 40 times since 2000 till 2024, It was only in 2014 that I was able to photograph the Sri Lanka Sloth Bear for the first time in Yala and only in 2019 in Wilpattu but since then I was pretty much lucky many times.
