We were in Sinharaja forest in the last week of April 2014 and though we saw a few birds and stuff, we were able to capture some intimate movements of upbringing of 3 BLUE MAGPIE chicks.

FINALLY AN OPPORTUNITY TO PHOTOGRAPH A LEOPARD IN WILPATTHU PARK AT WILL . . . . . . . .

WE WERE TREATED TO A FINE DISPLAY OF  EYE CATCHING MOVEMENTS OF THIS MAGNIFICENT FULLY GROWN LEOPARD IN WILPATTHU PARK IN APRIL 2014. OUR PATIENCE TO STAY WITH HIM FOR OVER 40 MINUTES REALLY PAID OFF AS HE DID ALL HIS ROUTINE STUFF OBLIVIOUS TO OUR PRESENCE. THE MOST SATISFYING THING WAS THAT THIS WAS MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO PHOTOGRAPH A LEOPARD IN WILPATTHU THOUGH WE HAD MADE COUNTLESS VISITS OVER A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS OR MORE.

IN HARMONY .............

These two birds, the Little Egret and the Indian Cormorant were seen in the canal next to  Nawala/ Nugegoda walk about on a Sunday in September 2013 fishing  with great harmony. They were going up and down stream many times almost neck to neck for at least 15 minutes with great enthusiasm and one could not help but think of the virtue " THE TEAM WORK"  as they did just that.
