A VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY : A FAILED LEOPARD ATTACK. . . . . . . .

I WAS A WITNESS TO THIS  AMAZING SCENE OF NATURE IN THE 3RD WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2013 WHEN I WENT TO YALA WITH SOME OF MY FRIENDS. THOUGH THE VISIT WAS  A GOOD ONE AS WE SAW 9 LEOPARDS DURING THE 3 DAY TRIP, THE BEST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE AT AROUND 11.00 A.M ON THE LAST DAY CLOSE TO THE ENTRANCE WHEN WE WERE GOING OUT.

THIS LEOPARD WAS IN A  CROUCHED  STANCE AND WAITING WHEN WE SAW HIM .

IT TOOK US SOME SECONDS TO GATHER WHY AS WE SAW A HERD OF DEER AT A DISTANCE...

THE INEVITABLE HAPPEND AS THE  HEARD MOVED TOWARDS THE LEOPARD...

THE LEOPARD PATIENTLY WAITED TILL SOME MOVED PASSED HIM AND THEN SPRUNG INTO ACTION...

MAY BE HE WAS DISTRACTED BY SOMETHING , HE MISSED IT'S TARGET....

HE MIGHT HAVE CONTINUED THE ATTACK BUT NOW HE SEES THE OBSTACLE...

 AND SLOWLY RETREATS....

THE DEER GIVE  HIM A " NOW WHO IS IN CHARGE LOOK "

THE LEOPARD LOOKS BACK TO MAKE SURE THAT HE CANNOT  BE THE BOSS THIS TIME....

 .....AND RETREATS RELUCTANTLY....

THIS IS THE OBSTACLE... THE TWO WILD BUFFALO'S HAVE COME TO THE RESCUE OF THE DEER. THEY GIVE THE CHARGE...

THIS TIME THE KING HAS LOST THE BATTLE... THE CO EXISTANCE AND "LIVE IN HARMONY " ADAGE HAS PROVED YET AGAIN, AND THIS TIME THE EXAMPLE HAS COME FROM THE WILD.........
