NESTING OF INDIAN PARADISE FLYCATCHER IN YALA-

I was in KATARAGAMA with my family and couple of friends over the weekend for worship purposes mainly but was able to make 2 quick trips to Yala from the Katagamuwa entrance.Though the time restrictions deprived me from going interior towards the Palatupana entrance there by getting a chance only to see a Leopard cub without been able to photograph well,I managed to photograph a nesting episode of Indian Paradise Flycatcher.

THALANGAMA NATURE ACTIVITY...

Although Thalangama lake has lost it's fauna habitats considerably in the past few years, some interesting activity can be observed when the Asian open bills start nesting from July inwards.

PICTURES OF THE SRI LANKA SLOTH BEAR .....

Although I started my wildlife journeys in 1992 by going to Wasgamuwa national park when my daughter was only 10 months old, surprisingly I didn't get a chance to see a Bear till 2011 and that also was a glimpse in the dark in Wilpattu.

After patronizing both Yala and Wilpattu national parks for over 35 times since 2000 till 2021, It was only in 2014 that I was able to photograph the Sri Lanka Sloth Bear for the first time in Yala and only in 2019 in Wilpattu but since then I was pretty much lucky many times.
