SOME EXCITING PICTURES FROM "NAWALA" WALKWAY ........

I combined my Sunday walk with a photo shoot at "NAWALA WALKWAY" on a Sunday in July and captured some worthy  pics.

VISIT TO UDAWALAWE NATIONAL PARK AFTER SIX YEARS....

I went to Udawalawe with some friends and their families in the 2nd week of June and stayed one day inside the park in one of the bungalows called SINUGGALA. Though the variety of animals were not that much , it was quite picturesque in many places in the park.

This was a friendly tussle and quite rare to capture on camera.

The path was full of sceneries like this.

This changeble Hawk Eagle landed on the lake bund and was looking for something...

The site of spotted munia's in a flock like this was common.

This was nice to capture.

This was quite eye catching...

These two Imperial Green Pigeons were roosted on a tree close to the bungalow in the late evening  and was quite oblivious to our photography session.

Sunrise was quite a soothing sight.

The moon was visible even at 6 a.m.

This Grey Heron was in an unusual partnership with the buffalo in the water moving around..

This Black Winged Stilt was bathing nicely....

To get a photo of an Eurasian Hoope is not that easy as it moves fast.

This one was eating in the lake adjoining the Bungalow.

This Giant Squirrel was quite tamed and was near the riverside where we went bathing the following day.

FIRST VISIT TO YALA FOR 2017 IN MAY....

This time around this was my first visit to Yala for 2017 which was quite unusual. I went with my family and the family we got acquainted in Vietnam for a day trip and we were quite lucky to have seen quite a number of birds and animals.




This baby Elephant who was with its family went back to the stream alone and had fun in the water.

This brown Fish Owl was detected on a tree very close by and allowed us to take enough pictures and did not mind.

A female Indian Robin

This Asian Paradise Flycatcher was dipping into the water many times may be to clean itself.

A changeable Hawk Eagle

We were lucky as we saw this Leopard around 7 am and for a couple of minutes only our Jeep was in the vicinity allowing us to take a few shots.

This cub would have been days old and was checking its ability to  move.

The famous Tusker "GAMUNU" .Though everyone wanted to see  him  precautions were taken not to get very close as he is famous for putting the trunk inside the vehicles and scaring the people.
