YALA TRIP IN AUGUST 2015

I went to Yala for the 3rd time this year in the first week of August with my family along with my cousin's family who were on vacation  and another family and stayed at WARAHANA bungalow for 2 days.

 This Grey headed fish Eagle was perched on this log very close to us and suddenly dipped and caught a fish. Though I got this shot I was partly covered by a bush and did not get the shot I desired.

 This Peacock came very close to our Jeep and was told that people give food and is looking up for that but we refrained from giving anything.

 This Painted stork took more than 3 -4 minutes to gobble this fish which could have been a little too big.

On the first day evening we came across these 2 Leopards who were the mother and the cub

 On the same day while we were returning to the bungalow we  got the rare chance  of seeing this very young cub with the mother. Though it was getting dark we managed to capture some nice shots though they were not that clear.

 This was one of my favourite photos. The sun was  up and the rays directly fell on the Monkeys and gave this very picturesque effect.

 These 2 fishermen were caught in this unusual pose as their boat went under a wave in Patanangala .

 Got the picture when  this changeable hawk Eagle took off.

 This was a priceless photo. We were told that the number of these Black necked Storks in the island is less than 7 and in a few years time might be  an extinct species sadly.

 We saw this big cat early morning on the final day.

 A Jackal
