VISITI TO MANNAR VIA WILPATTU......

I was able to go to Mannar in the last week of March 2013 via Wilpattu coupling up with some official work as well.

 This is the road going throgh Wilpattu . From Eluwankulam to Selawatura the road side is similar.

 I saw Peacock chicks for the first time.
 Halfway through, the road was muddy due to overnight rain and we got stuck. Finaly after waiting for over one hour, we got a Navy Tractor to towe us.

 Though this was a welcoming scene where more than thousand Flemingos have come to the peninsula after 2-3 years, unfortunately there was no way that we could get a closer look.
